Funding

On campus organizations may qualify for funding for Optix services in the following ways:

  1. SAFC's Direct Charge Authorization
    • This will authorize direct payment of participating local vendors, including Optix, from the Office of Assemblies.
    • It allows organizations to avoid paying taxes or paying out-of-pocket.
    • Access the application here.
  2. SAFC
    • Spring 2012 deadline: February 3
    • How to prepare: A budget for the entire semester must be prepared right before classes start.
    • Learn more on the SAFC website at assembly.cornell.edu/SAFC/ApplyingForFund
    • Maximum funding amount varies each semester, but estimate around $3000-4000. More is allocated to the Fall semester.
  3. ALANA (African Latino Asian Native American Programming Board)
    • Deadline: At least two weeks before event.
    • Learn more on the ALANA website at http://alana.dos.cornell.edu/
    • Maximum funding amount has varied, but is generally approximately $700.
  4. ISB (International Students Board)
    • Deadline: At least two weeks before event; recommended about one month before event.
    • Learn more on the ISB website at http://www.rso.cornell.edu/ispb/
    • Maximum funding amount is $400 per semester.
  5. Bartels Fund/Dean of Students
    • Deadline: About four-six weeks into the semester, typically before each break.
    • To prepare, get an application from the Office of the Dean of Students, inside Willard Straight Hall. Have price quotes ready for the event planned.
    • Maximum funding amount is typically $700. You may or may not be able to apply each semester.
